CHARLOTTE , N.C. -- Police arrested two people for their involvement in the attempted armed robbery and shooting of a Charlotte cab driver.
Ericka Laronda Jones and Marquis Jajaun Moise are both facing felony charges in the case.
Officers responded to Monroe Road in reference to a victim that had been shot during an attempted armed robbery early Tuesday morning.
The victim, a driver for Diamond Cab Company, advised that he had received a phone call to pick up a female for a cab ride. The victim drove the female, identified as Erika Jones, to her destination.
After Jones exited the cab without paying her cab fare, Moise then exited a vehicle parked nearby and attempted to rob the cab driver at gunpoint.

Jones voluntarily came to police headquarters to be interviewed. At the conclusion of the interview, she was charged with Attempted Robbery with Dangerous Weapon and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon. She was then transported to the Mecklenburg's Sheriff's Office.
Later that evening, Moise was apprehended without incident by vigilant North Tryon patrol officers on warrants signed by detectives. Moise has been charged with Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. He is currently in custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.
