Vale Man Charged with Larceny and Forgery
Lincolnton, NC – A Vale man was charged Tuesday night with larceny of checks from his employer and cashing one of the checks at a nearby business. Detective Matt Burgess charged Michael Shane Perryman, 31, of Vale, NC with one felony count each of Forgery of a Bank Note, Uttering a Forged Instrument and Obtaining Property by False Pretenses. He is also charged with one misdemeanor count of Larceny. On October 14, 2012 the owner of Norman’s Café at 9193 North NC Hwy 10 reported the theft of seven checks from his business checkbook. On October 16, 2012 Perryman was charged with cashing one of the stolen checks at the Kountry Korner Convenience Store for $60. The suspect made the check out to himself and forged the signature of Russell Norman on the check. The Adam District patrol officers assisted with the investigation and more charges are expected to be filed in connection with the case. Perryman was processed at the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center and is being held under a $7,000 secured bond. |
