Bloomberg Report: DNC Eyes Bank of America StadiumCHARLOTTE, N.C. - Citing three un-named Democrats involved in fundraising for the Democratic National Convention, Bloomberg news is reporting that the final day of the DNC could move to Bank of America Stadium to sell more sky boxes to wealthy donors. The stadium, home of the Carolina Panthers, seats nearly 74,000 people. Four years ago, Obama accepted the nomination in Denver at Invesco Field in front of a crowd of reportedly more than 84,000. We asked DNC leaders for their reaction to the Bloomberg report. They sent us one quote from convention committee CEO Steve Kerrigan. He says "Decisions about convention planning are driven by engaging more people in the process, not by money." DNC press secretary Joanne Peters also tells FOX Charlotte "We plan to hold the convention at the Time Warner Cable Arena." But Bloomberg is sticking with its story. The report indicates that Obama's advisers are "aware of the political downside of the President delivering his nationally televised acceptance in a stadium named for a bank that considered imposing a fee that he said would have 'mistreated' customers" but that it was outweighed by the chance to lure more big dollar contributors.
