ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Pat McCrory is getting help again from former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush in his bid for North Carolina governor this fall, this time by participating in a brunch in Asheville geared toward women.
Bush and McCrory planned to take questions for more than a half-hour from the audience Thursday morning at an Asheville hotel. The "Women for McCrory" event costs $35 a person.
Bush raised money for McCrory's campaign in late April at a high-end Raleigh restaurant. Bush's education foundation also worked with the former Charlotte mayor and Republican nominee as he developed a public schools platform for the campaign.
McCrory's critics point out he and Bush won't take questions from the media before the event as previously scheduled. A McCrory spokesman cited time commitments before and after the brunch.
