Nash-Rocky Mount board chair to head state group

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (AP) — The chairman of the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools Board of Education is the new president of the N.C. School Boards Association.

The Rocky Mount Telegram reports (http://bit.ly/TTwOEb ) Evelyn Bulluck was recently named the new president of the statewide organization during the 43rd N.C. School Boards Association Annual Conference for Board Member Development in Greensboro.

Bulluck was nominated by the Nash-Rocky Mount school board to serve on the association's board of directors in 2005, after which she was elected at the association's annual conference that same year.

Bulluck said the association's mission is to train school board members on the role of a truly effective school board member. It is headquartered in Raleigh.
