NC lottery officials say check your ticket closely
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Take a look at the tickets you bought for the record Powerball drawing because they may offer a prize whether you win the jackpot or not.
Executive Director Alice Garland of the N.C. Education Lottery is asking players to check their numbers closely Thursday. Garland said the Powerball game offers a variety of significant prizes in addition to the jackpot, which had reached $550 million prior to Wednesday night's drawing.
While no one picked all five numbers and the Powerball on Saturday, Nov. 24, there were 68,017 winning tickets in North Carolina from that drawing. Prizes ranged from $4 to $40,000 and totaled $527,442.
Garland said North Carolina has had five jackpot winners.
