Charlotte, N.C. - A former CMS teacher is facing more charges from CMPD for having sexual activity with another student at Olympic High School in Southwest Charlotte. 39-year old Brett Haight is charged with having sex with a 16 year old student. This is his second charge. He was charged with a similar crime with another Olympic High student. Haight was a teacher at Olympic, he resigned under pressure in January when allegations surfaced.

At Olympic, students like Grant Gheringhelli says they're not surprised, "I knew a couple of the girls and I knew how they felt afterwards, they felt extremely uncomfortable with what happened."

CMS would not comment on Haight's new charged and re-iterated to FOX Charlotte no red flags came up in it's initial background check of Mr. Haight.

But a simple web search found plenty of red flags about Haight's behavior that stretches all the way back to Maryland. Online newspaper reports and teacher web sites reference an incident in 2002. Haight was accused of inappropriately touching girls in class while he was a middle school teacher in Frederick. Reports from some of the 17 girls interviewed by authorities say, he was "creepy." One girl says he rubbed her upper thigh.

But, the Frederick County Sheriff's office told FOX Charlotte no charges were ever filed. Because no charges were ever filed, those allegations never came up in CMS's background check before hiring Haight.

Gloria Rollins has a son who's a senior at Olympic. She says she's glad he's graduating this spring, "teachers are too interested in being friends with the students, I think that the teachers need to understand that students are wards of theirs and they are there to teach them and train them, not to interact in any other ways with them period."

Haight's bond is set at $10,000. He is due in court to face his new charges Tuesday.
