GASTON COUNTY, N.C.--Kids in Gaston County will no longer face paddling if they get in trouble at school.

The school board has decided to end corporal punishment next year.  Fourteen kids in Gaston County were disciplined that way last year.

Seventeen districts in the state still use corporal punishment.  Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools stopped using it in 1991.
