Men Warn Others of Gold Diggers, Users on Social Networking SiteCHARLOTTE, N.C. - One woman lies about having an STD. Another woman lies about her pregnancies. And yet another woman cheats on the men she dates. Of course, all of this is according to their ex lovers. It's all posted on www.JustDontWifeHer.com. We've chosen to hide the women's identities but the site does not. The purpose? The creators say they're "dedicated to helping good guys by exposing gold diggers and users one at a time." One northeast Charlotte resident says, "It sounds pretty useful if there's girls running around, you don't want to talk to them, might as well get the word out." Another man isn't so sure, saying, "I just wouldn't. Everybody meet their own people and decide for themselves whether they're bad or good." Ex-husbands or boyfriends log on, create a profile and start venting but Charlotte psychologist Dr. Daniel Biber says it's not the cleansing experience it might appear to be. "Contrary to the popular view that getting it all out makes you feel better, the more you get out, the angrier you become,” he says. Most, if not all, of the comments posted about the women are vicious and very personal. And Biber says that reveals just as much about the men as it does their allegedly awful exes. "We tend to connect with other people who are about as psychologically healthy as we are,” says Biber. If you hated your ex wife or girlfriend before you posted her picture to JustDontWifeHer.com, you might hate her a lot more after. Because if she sues for defamation, she's suing you! "The web site indemnifies themselves against any type of liability,” says Charlotte Attorney Brad Smith. He took a look at the web site's terms of service. JustDontWifeHer.com clears itself and lays all responsibility on the user. Smith warns, "If you're gonna do it, you better make sure what you say is true and that you can verify that information." Smith says if any of these woman can prove the information posted is inaccurate, it's a slam dunk lawsuit against their ex. The site, which is free to use, allows you to search for women using their name or city. At the time of broadcast, no one in Charlotte has been profiled on the site. |
