Buzz Kill For Fake Pot Smokers
Fort Mill, SC - Buzz kill for the many people who get high off of synthetic marijuana products. Fake pot, sold as potpourri or incense throught convenient stores and head shops, gives smokers a similar high to pot. Now, it's coming under fire from the federal government and one local school district. York County School District is calling for lawmakers to ban the products. "We're issuing a call to arms, we just learned of the dangers of this just recently. "We're trying to help law enforcement and in turn help the schools, the bottom line is we're trying to help our youth, it's our role as adults as educators to try to keep our children safe," said Superintendent Chuck Epps. The Drug Enforcement Agency, acting quickly to pressure from health experts and law enforcement, put a ban on the chemicals that are used in the making of the fake pot products, K2, Spice and Red X Dawn. The ban will be in effect for one year, enough time for lawmakers to write legislation to ban the products altogether. |
