Suspected Toe Sucking Bandit Appears In Court
CHARLOTTE, N.C.--We were turned away at the Concord home of Michael Brown. Brown was arrested by Lincolnton Police, accused of sucking on a woman's toes at a Walmart on Monday after convincing her he was a podiatry student. "Oh I knew, I knew without a doubt as soon as I saw him, that that was him. There was no question about it," said a woman who wanted WCCB to conceal her identity.
She believes Brown attempted to do the same thing at a K-Mart last December. She says he asked her what she thought of some bathroom fixtures. "I thought I was just giving him an opinion for his decoration, but apparently not. He had ulterior motives," she said.
He told her he was studying reflexology, a holistic foot treatment, and took photos and videos of her toes. But, after he repeatedly asked if she could try on some shoes, she took off and called store security. "I can't believe I even fell for that scam," she said.
Lincolnton detectives say she is one of several potential victims they've heard from in Rock Hill,
Indian Trail, Monroe, and Denver. Brown was first convicted of attacking a woman in her Cabarrus County home at knife point in 2001. He was convicted of another case in Stanly County last year.
The 31-year-old has been a registered sex offender since 2004. And now this woman worries he might strike again, "I'll definitely be more cautious of who I offer to help in any given store... from here on out," she said.
Brown is scheduled to appear in court again on April 4. He is being held on a $50 thousand bond.
