CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- CMPD's Freedom Division conducted a DWI Checkpoint Friday night, which resulted in 88 charges between the hours of 11 p.m. and 3:30 a.m.

The checkpoint was located in the 5800 block of Wilkinson Blvd. The Forensics Test for Alcohol Branch had its “Bat Mobile” on site for breath testing. The Mint Hill Police Department, UNC-Charlotte Police Department and Mecklenburg County ABC Law Enforcement assisted in the operation.

A total of 12 people received charges of Driving While Intoxicated, 13 people were charged with Driving While License Revoked, 9 people did not have an operator's license, three had open containers of alcohol, one had a warrant, 11 were arrested on drug charges, and 40 others were charged with various other traffic violations.
