Charlotte man convicted of killing cousin


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — A Charlotte man has been convicted of killing his cousin in 2009.

The Charlotte Observer reported ( that 26-year-old Ronald Jerome Tolson was convicted of second-degree murder on Wednesday.

Superior Court Judge Robert Bell sentenced Tolson to at least 15 years in prison for the death of 25-year-old Markus Foster.

Prosecutors say Tolson confronted Foster outside his apartment in southeast Charlotte. Prosecutors say the men had been involved in a dispute earlier that evening.

Prosecutors say Tolson fired several shots and Foster was hit twice.
