CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — If Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has any resentment toward the New Orleans Saints over being on their bounty list last season he isn't making it public.
Newton downplayed the fact that he was one of a handful of quarterbacks at the center of the Saints' bounty scandal. Newton will face New Orleans on Sunday in Charlotte for the first time since the NFL levied fines and suspensions against the Saints, some of which since have been overturned.
Newton says only "that was last year, and I'm going to keep it at that."
The quarterback says the Panthers have plenty enough incentive this week after managing just a touchdown and a field goal in a 16-10 loss on Sunday to Tampa Bay.
