LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C.-- A Lincoln County man is behind bars on several charges after a domestic dispute, including shooting and killing a pet snake.
Gary Wayne Erricson, 46, was arrested Sunday and charged with felony possession of a firearm by a felon, felony cruelty to animals, and one misdemeanor count each of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According the the Sheriff's Office, deputies arrived around 9:30 p.m. to his home on Sawdust Trail where they found a 20 gauge shotgun, a pistol, broken furniture and glass, and several holes in the walls from the shotgun.
According to deputies, Erricson also took a pet snake outside where he shot and killed it.
Erricson was placed under a $20,000 bond at the Harven A Crouse Detention Center.
