SHERRILLS FORD, N.C. - If 18-year-old Jake Ziegler and 17-year-old Ray Pierce's plan to go to Myrtle Beach is simply a teenage temper tantrum taken too far, Ziegler's sister says this:  "It's tearing us apart and I just want him home and if he's scared to come home because he thinks he's in trouble, then he's just being silly."

Jacalyn Ziegler says this behavior is unusual for her brother.  She says, "This is far too long, it's been far too long.  He's never gone more than 24 hours without contact, never."

Jake and Ray went to the Bandys High School football game Friday night, then to a friend's house party.  They left the party around 1:30 AM, headed for Myrtle Beach on I-77.

The last time they were heard from was a text message Jake sent to a friend at 2:44 AM Saturday that read "we're almost to the beach."  But the message pinged off a cell tower in Rock Hill, not near the beach.

The guys were in Jake's car, a 2006 dark green Pontiac G6.  It has a North Carolina tag BDD8844.

Social media is burning up with notices about the boys, asking people to be on the lookout.  Jacalyn says, "I read a comment on Facebook that said, 'I can't imagine what that family is going through.'  And it took me a quick second to realize that that family is me.  She's talking about me."

There's been no activity on either boy's debit or credit cards.  Jacalyn's dad hired a private plane to fly over I-77 from Rock Hill to Columbia, looking for any sign of them.  So far - nothing - but they plan to go back up in the air Tuesday.  If you've seen the boys, call the Catawba County Sheriff's Office at 828-464-5241.
