CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Three children are in critical condition at Brennar Children's Hospital
in Winston-Salem after a crash that one family members says could have been prevented.

Family members and friends gathered Saturday afternoon where 28 year old Angela Dunlap, her daughter 10 year old, Da'ja Cathcart, 4 year old Karizma Sexton, 25 year old Sean Jacobs and 45 year old Vincent McNeal died when the GMC Envoy they were riding in slammed into a tree
near Rown Avenue and 11th Street in Spencer last night.

"It's going to be fine. It's going to be fine," said Catherine Cathcart. Cathcart was among the mourners on Saturday afternoon. The Salisbury resident said she is the grandmother of Da'ja Cathcart. "God blessed me with her for ten years. He missed her so he took her back up with him and her mother," said Cathcart.

An unidentified woman at the scene said she considered Angela Dunlap, the driver the car,
a part of her family. "She was just a real good person. That's all I can say. I just don't know. I still think this is a joke," she said.

Investigators plan to reconstruct the scene to determine how fast the car was going at the time of the crash. "I think everyone's just shocked at the moment and they're just kind of like numb and they have unanswered questions and they don't know why it happened," said 17 year Spencer resident Ihab Georgy.

Cathcart is now joining others in this community as they hold out hope for the siblings of her grand-daughter, the three young children, who were airlifted from the scene. "I'm just numb. I'm just going through the motions," said Cathcart.

10 year old Charles Patrick survived the crash with minor injuries. Victim's family members say the lack of street lights in the neighborhood contributed to the cause of the crash because they say it's too dark at night to see the road.
