Air National Guard Deploys 100 Airmen

by JD Crouch

CHARLOTTE,NC--Members of the 145th Airlift Wing deployed from North Carolina Air National Guard on Wednesday.

Around 100 Airmen were sent off in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, many of the Airmen's families sent off their loved ones in an emotional goodbye that brought out much of the media and congressman Robert Pittenger, who wished many of our local Airmen godspeed in their journey.

The focus of the deployment is to move troops and supplies in support of an Air Expeditionary Force rotation.

The Airmen deployed in a C-130 Hercules Wednesday, the C-130 primarily performs tactical portions of airlift missions and is the prime transport for airdropping troops and equipment into hostile areas.

Pray for our men and women who defend this great country in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
