Airport Tower Closure Delayed
by FOX Charlotte

CONCORD,NC-- The FAA says they are going to hold off on closing airport towers in Concord and Hickory.

The feds were planning to begin shutting down the towers on Monday in order to make up for sequester budget cuts but new information says that wont be happening until June.

Concord city manager, Brian Hiatt, is pleased with the delay,"The temporary extension of the tower program is a positive action," says Hiatt.

Hiatt also stated that Concord Regional Airport will remain open with or without a tower.
