Armed Robbery Leaves Witness Shot

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department are investigating a shooting in east Charlotte.

Officers received two calls for service in the Marlbrook Drive area Monday morning. One call was in reference to the shooting and the other about an armed robbery in the area. Upon arrival, crews found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

According to police, the victim witnessed the suspect involved in an armed robbery before the suspect shot him. The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center where he is in stable condition.

The suspect fled the scene in a black Honda Accord with South Carolina tags. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (704) 334-1600.
