Attempted Carjacking Leads to Fight
STANLEY, N.C.-- A Gaston County man is behind bars after police say he tried to carjack a couple at a gas station.
Michael Anthony Todd Greene, 44, was arrested Sunday and charged with one count each of attempted armed robbery, assault with a deadly weapon, resisting an officer, and being intoxicated and disruptive.
According to police, Greene pulled a knife on a female sitting in her car at the BP gas station on Highway 27 South in Stanley around 9:30 p.m. Sunday. Her boyfriend was able to fight Greene off and restrain him until police arrived.
There will be no charges filed against the boyfriend of the driver. All parties involved were treated by medical personnel on scene.
Greene is being held in the Gaston County Jail under a $100,000 secured bond.
