BRANSON, M.O.--Authorities say 10 people were killed in southern Illinois after storms hit the Midwest. 

An Illinois Emergency Management Agency spokesperson said the coroner's office in Harrisburg recently updated the death toll. 

The storm hit early Wednesday morning and caused widespread damage.
