Backlash Continues For Gaston Memorial Hospital's Rebranding Plan

GASTONIA, N.C.--Gaston Memorial Hospital is still dealing with the backlash from their marketing rebrand. 

Last week, the company announced their new slogan would be 'Cheat Death'.  After numerous complaints they decided against using the new slogan. 

Now, the chair of the Gaston Board of Commissioners is asking two members of hospital's board of trustees to resign. 

The Chair is claiming two of the members have relatives that work for the marketing company hired to come up with the new slogan.  It was a deal that cost the hospital $2.5 million. 

A spokesperson for CaroMont said administrators from the hospital made the decision to hire the marketing company Immortology, not the board of trustees.
