CHARLOTTE, N.C.--A boy who smelled smoke may have saved lives during a house fire in north Charlotte.

When he saw the flames he told his step-dad and they got everyone out of the home on Plymouth Avenue near Grimes Street.

A mom and four kids were inside.  Neighbors say they believe a faulty clothes drier may have sparked the fire.
