CHARLOTTE,NC--A group of former scouts are speaking out against the Boy Scouts proposed gay member policy.
The Boy Scouts of America announced it may lift the ban on gay scouts but not gay leaders.
Charlotte's chapter of the Inclusive Scouting Network says the policy essentially kicks gay kids out of the system at a certain age.
Matt Comer says he was a scout until they dismissed him for being gay,"the moment you turn 18 you're no longer welcome and that's not an acceptable policy," says Comer.
Comer says he'd like to see a gay scout policy that would not expire with age.
