CHARLOTTE, N.C.--You will need some extra change to ride buses or trains in Charlotte starting this summer. 

The cost of a local bus ride goes up $0.25 to $2.00 on July 1st.  A trip on a Lynx train also goes up $0.25 to $2.00. 

An express ticket will cost $2.75, that's a $0.35 increase.

From April 29th to May 5th, CATS is allowing free rides for anyone traveling with a bicycle on CATS buses or the Lynx train.
