CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer has been placed on administrative leave following a incident where authorities say he falsified his time sheets. Jeffrey Taylor, turned himself into police on Wednesday. He is charged with obtaining property by false pretense.

Police say the charges stem from a investigation which concluded that Taylor falsified time sheets while working off-duty at the Arboretum Shopping Center in south Charlotte between October 2012 and January 2013.

Taylor has been placed on unpaid administrative leave pending a criminal and internal investigation. He was hired on April 26, 1989. He was assigned to the Metro Division and worked as a school resource officer at Phillip O. Berry High School.
