CMS Employee Arrested for Trafficking Marijuana

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A Charlotte-Mecklenburg School employee faces drug charges after police say they found 13.74 pounds of marijuana in his possession.

Derrick Barr was arrested by Concord Police on Wednesday night. Officers say Barr told them he was an employee at CMS. According to school officials, Barr was a behavior modification technician at Thomasboro Academy and has been with the school since 2012.

School officials say they found out about the arrest on Thursday. Barr has been suspended with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
