CMS Begins Human Resources Overhaul

CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Dr. Heath Morrison says he wants to streamline the hiring process at CMS.  It's part of a shakeup in the district's leadership team. 

Kelly Gwaltney will take over as director of human resources.  Morrison says he wants a more "customer-service friendly" HR department. 

He also wants to create a pool of applicants which principals can then easily choose from. 

Morrison also made changes in the communications department.  He named Kathryn Block chief communications officer. 

The re-structuring comes from recommendations in an audit released on Tuesday.
