CMS Bus Driver Injured, Man in Critical Condition

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A Charlotte Mecklenburg School bus driver is expected to be okay after being involved in a wreck on Tuesday. According to authorities, Shera Hubert was driving on Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte around 9 a.m. when traffic in front of the bus came to a stop.

Police say John Froneberger failed to reduce his speed therefore causing him to collide with the bus.The force of the impact caused Froneberger's Volvo to go underneath the bus. Fire officials responded and had to extricate the victim from the vehicle.

No children were on the bus at the time of the crash.

Medic responded to the scene and transported both drivers to the hospital. Shera Hubert was transported for minor injuries. John Froneberger was transported for critical life-threatening injuries.
