CHARLOTTE, NC -- Charlotte tourism officials plan to spend big bucks on a study to determine the economic impact of the DNC.  The Charlotte Regional Visitor's Authority says it will pay Tourism Economics between $20,000 and $25,000.

The CRVA says the DNC was such an extraordinary event, it wanted to be objective.  A similar report following the 2008 DNC in Denver found an economic impact of $156 million.
