Calling all runners in Charlotte! The deadline to register for the 2nd Annual Charlotte Ultra Run, presented by Oh Yeah! Nutrition, is quickly approaching. The 50k race and 10k fun run will be held on Saturday Feb. 2, 2013, but registration closes at midnight on Jan. 31, 2013.
 
Both races will kick off at the Countryside Montessori School and will continue along the Mallard Creek Greenway until the intersection of E. Mallard Creek Rd and N. Tryon St, which is a 3.1 mile stretch. For the 50k race, the first male and first female to cross the finish line prior to the six hour window will be the winners. The race will stop at the end of eight hours. The 50k race has received a bronze level certification from the International Association of Ultra Runner (IAU), which is the worldwide governing body for ultrarunning. The USA Track & Field certified 10k fun run will consist of one loop on the course (6.2 miles). 
 
Meet fellow race participants and fuel up at the pre-race meet and greet dinner. It will be held at the Macaroni Grill off of Harris Blvd (8620 Research Drive, Charlotte) on Friday Feb. 1 from 8-10 p.m. All runners will receive a discount by showing their race bib.
