CHARLOTTE, NC -- More than 700 middle school students from Charlotte-Mecklenburg middle schools got to hang out with the Panthers' starting quarterback Friday.  The Cam Newton Foundation held the second annual School Pride Day at memorial stadium in the Elizabeth neighborhood.  The reason Newton enjoys holding these events is so he can give back to area kids.

"Put on events like this," Newton said, "in a great way today."

The Panthers also locked Newton down until 2015 on Friday.  Check out more on that story on our Sports page.
