CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Charlotte kicked off the holidays with a tree lighting and a visit from Santa. 

The annual tree lighting ceremony was held Thursday at Trade and Tryon Streets.  For some, it's more than a yearly tradition.  It's the official start to the holiday season. 

An added touch this year, mascots paraded around Center City to kick off the ACC tournament weekend.
