CHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Former Arlington County VA. manager Ron Carlee has been offered the job as city manager of Charlotte.

According to council members, the Charlotte City Council offered Carlee the job as city manager after a meeting on Wednesday night.

If he accepts, it would be the first outside hire for Charlotte's top job since 1981. Carlee was chosen over two internal candidates: Deputy City Manager Ron Kimble and Assistant City Manager Ruffin Hall.
