Christmas Gifts That Will Soon Become Outdated
CHARLOTTE, NC--There are plenty of great items that you can put on your wish list this season! Tablets, cell phones, HD-TV's. But what happens when your new gadget becomes obsolete just weeks after Christmas when a new version comes out? Tech junkies like Alonte James get mad. "Oh yea of course, of course who wouldn't be," said James. He says it's happened to him before. "Soon as you get something they always upgrade it at the last minute, then you have to buy that," said James. For everyday users like Tracey Suggs, old technology is no big deal. "I think everybody is accustomed to it now, you know if the technology is changing, if that's an item that you want you're going to get it and just be comfortable with it," said Suggs. Take the ipad 2 for instance, it's a hot Christmas item this year. The second generation came packed with a slimmer design and a faster processor. But those hoping to catch the latest model, the rumored ipad 3, will likely have to wait until at least March. Tech experts say the ipad 3 upgrades will include a crisper, cleaner display and better cameras. "From what the rumors speculate, this is going to be geared more towards people who are heavy into graphics cause of the retina display," said Charles Canady, Best Buy Mobile Manager. So for the average user, the ipad 2 will be just fine. You're also safe to buy HD-TV's, experts say new technology won't be out anytime soon. "When it comes to the fears of waiting for the next best thing, you're always going to be constantly waiting," said Canady. So make your list and check it twice, so you don't get stuck with an outdated device. If you want the next generation iphone, experts say you'll likely be waiting until June.
