MONROE, NC -- Union County Sheriff's Deputies and Union County EMS responded to Arthur Drive in Lake Park this morning concerning the death of an infant child.

Investigators say the father found the 15-month-old infant unresponsive this morning and called 911 immediately. Help was dispatched at 9:27 a.m., but first responders were unable to resuscitate the child. Foul play is not suspected. The case remains open pending the findings of the Medical Examiner.
