Suspect Identified in East Charlotte ShootingCHARLOTTE, N.C.-- Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department identified the suspect involved in a shooting Sunday afternoon. Tevin Troy Mayweather, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a felon. Police say the shooting took place just before 3 p.m. on Lawyers Road Sunday. Officers arrived and found a male in the roadway suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries. Mayweather was located on Glenmont Drive and immediately taken into custody. Detectives believe that the victim and suspect are known to one another and are not looking for any additional suspects. |
