Discussing Charlotte's Streetcar FutureCHARLOTTE.NC--A meeting at Johnson C. Smith University was held to to discuss what Charlotte's streetcar extension project will mean for our growth and economy. The town hall discussion included a recent controversy involving a financial threat started by Governor McCrory. There is a signed deal with the state to fund 25% of the Lynx blue line extension to north Charlotte. The feds have agreed to pay for half of the billion dollar project, but if Charlotte builds the streetcar using property tax money some lawmakers in Raleigh say they might pull the states portion.
