CHARLOTTE, NC--A meeting to turn Eastland mall into a film studio will happen next month.
Potential developers will meet at Eastland mall in January to discuss its future.
The meeting will involve a tour of the grounds and the possibility of sound stages and studios on the property.
The city spent 13.2 million on the 81 acres back in August and hope to capitalize on North Carolina's growing film industry.
Many studios have North Carolina in their film sites do to its generous tax credits.
Films such as "The Hunger Games" and the Showtime series "Homeland" are two of the larger recent productions filmed in Charlotte.
