BESSEMER CITY, N.C. -- A Bessemer City family is homeless, after a fire destroyed their one-story house Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from Crowder’s Mountain Fire & Rescue, Bessemer City Fire Department, and Tryonota Volunteer Fire Department were called to the scene at 1:50 p.m.
Crews witnessed a one story residential structure on Washington Avenue with smoke and flames visible from the front of the dwelling.
Firefighters entered the structure and battled the fire for more than 30 minutes until it was extinguished.
A total of 20 personnel were on the scene.
The house sustained substantial damage, with the residents living in the home displaced. No injuries to firefighters or civilians were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gaston County Fire Investigations Task Force.
