Fire Reignites at Statesville Lumber Yard
STATESVILLE, N.C. -- Fire crews continue to monitor a lumber yard fire after they say it reignited early Friday morning. Six fire departments were called out to the Godfrey Lumber Company on Amity Hill Road around 8 p.m. on Thursday. When fire officials arrived they say the building was fully involved and it took multiple crews to extinguish the flames.
Around 4 a.m. crews were called back out to the scene after the fire reignited.
At this time the cause remains unknown. We are told one person was transported for heat related issues and one person was treated at the scene.
Crews will remain on the scene throughout the day.
