Former Foster Parent Charges with Sex Crimes Against Children
SPENCER, N.C.-- A former licensed foster father is charged with several counts of sex offenses against children.
William Wayne Jones, 50, was extradited Friday from Sevier County, Tennessee to Rowan County for the purpose of warrant service. He is charged with four counts of first degree sexual offense and four counts of indecent liberties of a minor. The alleged offenses occurred during the time period of January 2002 through May 2005.
Jones and his wife were formerly licensed as foster parents through the Rowan County Department of Social Services and were responsible for children placed in their care from November 2001 through March 2004.
This investigation is ongoing. Jones is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center under a $1,000,000 bond.
