Gastonia Strip Mall Fire Ruled Accidental

GASTONIA, NC -- Fire investigators say a massive two-alarm fire that broke out in Gaston County on Thursday is being ruled as accidental. According to authorities, the fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. on Old York Road at  Gunn's Mini Mall.

Training Officer Gary Adair from Crowder's Mountain Fire and Rescue was first on the scene and witnessed flames coming through the roof of one of the businesses.

Firefighters were able to save the contents of 2 of the 4 businesses housed in the mini mall.

65 firefighters from seven departments were called to fight the blaze. They were able to get the fire under control in four hours.

No injuries were reported.
