CHARLOTTE, N.C. - At Day Break Massage and Wellness in Dilworth, the relaxing sound of cascading water could soon be drowned out by the clink of the cash register.  "I have no doubt this is going to be a huge thing, all over the country," says Robert Walker.

He co-owns the spa, which offers massage, Reiki and esthetician services.  He recently partnered with a brand new local company to not only attract new customers, but give back to the gay community.  Walker, "We like dealing with the gay community and they are very valuable clients to us."

Day Break spa will soon be featured on the new Gay It Forward Coupon.  Think Groupon or Living Social, but LGBT-friendly.  "It's about people who support us," says Dan Mauney.  He co-founded Gay It Forward, or GIF.

"With things happening in our community with the amendment and some negativity there, we wanted to really show loyalty to those businesses and individuals out there who support our causes," says Mauney.

The site offers up to 70% discounts from shopping, dining, entertainment, health, beauty and travel vendors.  Users sign up for free and get weekly emails about the deals.  It's also a win for five non-profits.  At checkout, users can choose to donate 10% to one of the charities listed.  Mauney says, "There is power in numbers and there is power in dollars."

Back at the spa, Walker is looking forward to see GIF in action.  He's tried the other discount sites before but found they fostered no brand loyalty.  He says, "What we found with those is no one really got anything out of it."

He wants his business to benefit more than just his bank account.  He says, "We really have wanted to become more a part of the gay community."

Gay It Forward (www.gayitforwardcoupon.com) will also launch in Raleigh and if successful, Atlanta and DC.
