CHARLOTTE,NC - Jessika Johnson.. excited to greet her family after graduating from UNC Charlotte.

"Not as excited as we are!" exclaims her Aunt.

Soon the theater major is off to Korea.. to teach English.

"There's money there. And there's not here," she laughs.

According to the Department of Labor.. over 50 percent of bachelor's-degree grads under age 25 are unemployed or underemployed.

"I gotta find something! And I know I can get money doing that and I can still do my art," Johnson explains.

Staffing agent Matt Rowles says jobs are out there.. but you've got to stand out.

He says start by narrowing your focus.

"Pick a handful of companies that you really want to work for. And do your research and try your best to get in front of the right people there," he explains.

He says emphasize what experience you do have.

"Situational experience that you may have during college. Internships," he says.

Marcy Davenport will take some more time to get ready to enter the workforce.

She's one of many who plan to go back to school.

She doesn't envy her classmates.

"Are you encouraged that everybody's going to be able to find a job?" we asked.

"Not a whole lot. but that's ok.. we'll get there," she says.

It may just take some time.
