Heavy Rains Cause Several Area ProblemsCHARLOTTE , NC -- A long day of much needed rain causes several flooding issues across the Charlotte area. Little Sugar Creek looked not so little Monday evening. Crews were forced to shut down part of the greenway at Morehead Street. The rain turned roads into rivers in South Carolina. Crews shut down several roads in Lancaster after the area received about 8 inches of rain in six hours. Firefighters took pictures at the intersection on Gills Creek Drive and Langley Road. Three cars got stuck, although no one was hurt. Two Rock Hill neighbors say it's the city, not the rain that owes them. Water got as high as their backyard birdbaths. Homeowners on Ogden Road say the city's reservoir channels water right into their property. It's supposed to dump out past their homes. They say it's happened before, leading to the city providing money to modify their homes. Now they want to know why it's still flooding.
