CHARLOTTE, N.C.--Hundreds of kids will have gifts this Christmas thanks to students in east Charlotte.

The students and faculty at Hickory Grove Christian School donated hundreds of toys and nearly $1,600 to the Salvation Army.

FOX News Rising's Jon Wilson helped with the 'Toy Slam' pep rally.  Organizers say they get more donations every year.  This year they got 800 toys donated.
