Hickory Marine Killed In Explosion IdentifiedHAWTHORNE ARMY DEPOT,NV--A Hickory man was among the seven marines killed in the deadly explosion at Camp Lejeune Monday. Mason Vanderwork was from Hickory and was said to be a graduate of St. Stephens high school. Vanderwork was killed by an explosive that malfunctioned during a mortar training exercise Monday.
