UPDATE: 2 People Dead in Hidden Valley Quadruple Shooting
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- UPDATE: Police have released the names of the two people that were killed after a shooting near the Hidden Valley community. According to police, Inna Gonzalez and Davion Funderburk were killed after a car pulled up next to the vehicle they were in and opened fire.
Police say they were called to Reagan Drive in the Hidden Valley neigborhood just after 1 p.m. on Thursday. Upon arrival, officers found Gonzalez and Funderburk suffering from gunshot wounds. Gonzalez was pronounced dead at the scene and Funderburk was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life threatening injuries. On Friday, he died as a result of his injuries.
Investigators say 22-year-old Brandon Alexander and 18-year-old Anthrawan Springs were shot during the incident and were taken by citizens to an area hospital. Both men were treated and discharged.
Information gathered at the scene indicated that a possible suspect vehicle was seen near Hidden Valley Elementary School.
The school was placed on lockdown for a short time while officers searched for the suspect vehicle. The lockdown was lifted after authorities say no car was found near the school.
